How taken

Safety information
Levitra is taken orally with or without food. Nevertheless, taking Levitra with food high in calories may prolong the activation time. Also, you should not drink grapefruit juice while you are taking Levitra. It may impede the effects of the drug. Levitra may make some people dizzy or cause vision changes. If you experience dizziness or your vision is blurred, DO NOT drive or perform any hazardous actions before these symptoms are gone. Before taking Levitra, inform your physician if you have heart disease such as haemophilia, and any diseases that affects the shape of the penis.
Levitra may cause wooziness, sleepiness, blurred vision, or fainting. These effects may become worse if you take Levitra with alcohol or some certain medications. Use caution while you are taking Levitra.
Taking Levitra is not recommended if:
- you are allergic either to the active ingredient in Levitra or any of the other ingredient in it.
- you are currently taking nitrates for the treatment of angina.
- you suffer from serious heart or liver problems.
- you are receiving kidney dialysis treatment.
- you have recently had a stroke or infarct.
- you suffer from low arterial pressure.
- you have a history of degenerative eye diseases (for example pigmentosa)
Drug interactions:
Drugs which are not recommended to be taken along with Levitra include the following:
- Nitrates (medicines for treating heart problems)
- Retonavir or Indinavire ( these are medicines for HIV)
- Ketoconazole or Itraconazole ( these are anti-fungal medicines)
- antibiotics
Alpha-blockers (medications for treating hypertension).

Side effects
Almost any medicines may cause side effects, but most people may have no or minor side effects. Consult with your doctor if any of these most common side effects do not discontinue or become bothersome: flushing; headache; indigestion; nasal congestions; stomachache, dizziness.
Seek urgent medical attention immediately if any of these serious side effects occur to you:
serious allergic reactions which include swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); itching; rash; hives; tightness in the chest; difficulty breathing; back or muscle pain; chest pain; fainting; prolonged, ringing in the ears; painful erection; severe or continual dizziness; severe or continual vision changes; sudden hearing loss, etc.
Less common Levitra related side effects include sensitivity of eyes to sunlight, hypotension or hypertension, fainting, muscle tightness, blurred vision, and prolonged, painful or spontaneous erections.
