What is Alesse?
Alesse is an oral contraceptive for use by women. The active ingredients in Alesse are levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol which are dispensed as oral tablets.

Dose

Warnings and Precautions
Do not use Alesse if you are allergic to levonorgestrel or ethinyl estradiol.
Do not use Alesse if you have recently had a baby.
Alesse passes into breast milk so women who are breast-feeding should use this medication with caution, under directions of a doctor.
Do not use Alesse if you have any of the following: circulatory problems associated with diabetes, a history of blood clot or stroke, uterine or breast cancer, severe hypertension, abnormal vaginal bleeding, liver cancer or liver disease, severe migraines, a history of jaundice associated with oral contraceptives, or a heart valve disorder.
Tell your doctor if you have any of the following: heart disease, high blood pressure, angina, congestive heart failure, a history of heart attack, obesity, high cholesterol, a history of depression, diabetes, gall bladder disease, irregular menstrual cycles, epilepsy, a history of fibrocystic breast disease, abnormal mammogram, varicose veins, uterine fibroid tumors, or tubercolosis.
Alesse may increase the risk of heart attack, stroke or blood clots
